History of the Practice

Animal Health at Home started as a House Call only practice in 1996. It has evolved into a full service animal clinic, yet we still do House Calls. In the beginning, no procedures were performed except well checks and vaccinations; now we are full service, with ultrasound, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, labs in house and out. Many clients have been with the practice since the beginning!
Same owner for the entire duration. Moved from the owner's home facility, where surgeries, etc. were done, to the clinic in town in 2016. Berthoud is a small semi-rural town in Northern Colorado, with 2 Elementary schools, one Middle school and one High School. The population has doubled in the last 5 years, and is still growing rapidly! Located between Loveland and Longmont, larger cities, we draw clients from these locations as well. The only other practice in Berthoud is "corporate" and we get quite a few of their clients due to a perception of being treated "as a number". We pride ourselves on our personal touch and we do not upsell, therefore we are not making as much money as we might, but we have happy clients. Most of our clients have adequate income to cover the costs of reasonable diagnostics, a few are low income. They all seem grateful that they have an alternative to the corporate pratices.

What makes this practice special/Major selling points

This practice is located in a beautiful part of Colorado with all outdoor activities nearby including hiking, camping, boating, kayaking, snow skiing, snowshoeing and on and on. Rocky Mountain National Park is only an hour away. The small town atmosphere makes it a great place to raise a family. We are very profitable and the annual gross is growing every year!

What might the next owner need to improve in this practice?

The only improvement I could think of is that the practice could totally support 2 doctors full time, but we have been unable to find another doctor who wants to work full time.
